Wedding Reception Centerpieces

A centerpiece is defined as a "decorative piece or display placed in the middle of a dining or serving table".

Obviously, that definition is not entirely true because it is so much more than that! You, your guests, or your event client should be the center of attention, but a centerpiece can be a huge aspect in creating a breathtaking event.

Many event designs begin with, or at the very least, include the centerpiece design that will make your event a stand-out! There are two guiding factors that can help determine what piece is appropriate for your event: your budget and the type of event.

Floral arrangements and grand chandelier tabletops can truly impact your spending in a dramatic way, although, arguably, they can be the most expensive. Every bride should consider what will make the most impact, while still remaining cost effective.

A themed event is a huge trend and makes your planning a bit more focused. As your planner, we will incorporate the theme appropriately, using our creative talents and professional experiences., food options, attire, and beverage selections.

If you are dreaming of an affordable event where glamor and elegance are key, consider adding food coloring to the water holding your flowers. Make it interesting by incorporating different vase designs, including multiple vase or flower colors on one table. Each table can be represented by it’s own color, and  flowers that help represent the occasion.

Should you want to include a centerpiece that is a bit more casual, an edible centerpiece is perfect for a kids party, brunch, luncheon or casual happy hour. A simple vase filled with assorted candies, can be altered easily by your candy selection. Vegetables are also a fast and simple centerpiece alternative that can really make a statement without spending too much money and overdoing the décor.

Lanterns and lamps are also gaining in popularity as your centerpiece. These can create an elegant environment, and can easily be found at discount stores that offer multiple shapes, types and colors. Fill the lanterns with candles to assist with table lighting or fill them with photos, love letters or other memorabilia that will toast the guest of honor and encourage conversation between your guests.

By incorporating a few DIY elements into your wedding day decor, you are sure to have an event that is personalized, affordable, and unique. Bring in items from your home to blend with those items you have purchased from your local stores. Get your creative juices flowing!
